Typical home in the area. One
room, dirt floors, not running
water or sewers. Yet, they are
kept clean, and the dirt swept.
Cooking is done over fires. Gathering
firewood is essential daily work.
Papusas is the staple of the diet. Corn milled
into flour and made into a dough. Patted into
a flat round patty with a small amount of
beans added – then grilled in olive oil.
